As a not for profit organization, we are funded primarily by private donations and contributions. There are many ways to help through donations of money, goods and services. Feed and proper veterinary care are the largest costs we face and any donation to offset those expenses ensures that we can continue to rescue animals and is greatly appreciated!

We keep a current list of items needed around the ranch on our wish list that can be found on this page. We also accept monetary donations through PayPal (click any of the orange "Donate" buttons on the site to make your contribution through PayPal online) or by mail to:

Another easy way to help us is by using AmazonSmile while you do your online shopping at Amazon.com. It's so easy! Every time you shop, Amazon will donate 0.5% of the purchase price to Hoofs and Woofs Animal Rescue. Bookmark the link http://smile.amazon.com/ch/27-1443320 and use it every time you shop online at Amazon!

Additionally, there are a number of local feed stores and suppliers in Valley Center if you would like to purchase hay or feed for our horses or other animals. The information on those stores is listed below along with the names of the veterinarians we use if you would like to help by pre-paying for care needed for the animals at Hoofs and Woofs.

Also, if you want to help a specific animal you can do so through full or partial sponsorship. Visit our Sanctuary Animals page for stories and photos of animals available for sponsorship!

All contributions are appreciated and while we love to send "Thank You" letters and updates on animals, we do not send out follow up requests for more donations or share personal and private information with any other organizations, whether a recurring or one time donation is made. 100% of all donations and contributions go directly to helping our animals on their way to rehabilitation and re-homing!

Your donations matter! Read this heartfelt thank you note from our director, Dorothea, to one of our donors, Ray Schleep:

Thanks to all our amazing volunteers and donors that help us care for these animals every single day! Look below for more ways to help.

Dear Ray:

Thank you so much for donating two big tubs of your Nu Wave Probiotic Supplement to the horses of Hoofs and Woofs Animal Rescue.  The first bucket came last summer and ran out this spring as I was using it on the old guys.

For 3 months we did not have your product, but all other feed stuff was the same.  I can honestly tell you that it made a huge difference on the hard keepers to go without your wonderful probiotic mix.

Thank you for providing another bucket.  You understand how limited our funding is.  This was truly a test of how badly we need this in the diet of the old guys that are hard keepers.  They have gotten the gloss back after 8 weeks of probiotics returning to their “mash buckets”.  Nothing else changed, just the probiotics made a huge difference.  Amazing to see such a black and white change with the addition of one product.

I’ve been taking care of horses most of my life and some of my recipes came from my great grandfather.  So it was amazing to me to find something I knew nothing about that our horses need.  Thank you for teaching this old dog a new trick.

Thank you for your support and friendship.

Dorothea Boughdadly

Not sure what to donate? Gift certificates to any of the above veterinary services or feed and supply stores is a great way to help us ensure the animals have everything they need all the time!
