Rio is a 14.2 hand, chestnut mustang gelding, foaled in 1998. He was gathered from the Ridgecrest, CA area February 13, 1999 and adopted out. A time later, he ended up roaming the streets of Downey.
If Rio could talk, there would certainly be a sad story to tell. Since coming to us, he has learned to trust a few people and is a sweet ride if he approves of you. He's quick, smart, and a little leery of hands near his face. He needs a slow, gentle, easy-going person to call his own.
Rio is easy to trailer to new places and loves to explore all kinds of trails. He walks out nicely, his gaits are smooth and he's had some cattle training. He's not afraid of obstacles and totally trusts his rider once he's established a good working relationship.
Rio is small but mighty and lots of fun! Since coming to us on 5/24/2012, Rio has won the hearts of two of our volunteers.
