TODAY WAS A BIG DAY FOR LUCKY! The farrier came to remove Lucky's shoes on his front feet after a long year of recovery from White Line Disease. This bacterial/fungal disease attacks where the hoof meets the foot which also caused his coffin bone to rotate. In short, poor Lucky's hoof was very painful. He was treated with a variety of medications and had his hoof supported with a horse shoe (put on both feet for balance.) It then took a year for his hoof to regrow to the point he could go "barefoot" again.
We are so proud of our Lucky and are thrilled that he has completely recovered! This big Thoroughbred with the beautiful long legs can now join us on our trail rides. Congratulations Lucky!
Lucky's year-long treatment was an expensive one so please go to our "DONATE" button above if you would like to make a donation to our wonderful horse's care. Thank you!
